Designing a better braking system for cars
In my Designing Product Interactions class we were given the assignment of choosing a random sensor and affector, combining them into a sensory feedback system and finally determining a real life application of that system. I was given an accelerometer and neopixels and decided to combine them by displaying different colors on the neopixels depending on how fast the accelerometer was moving along the x axis. Once I got this system working I thought about how useful it would be if cars had this sort of mechanism. This system when applied to cars could let drivers know how slowly or quickly the car in front of them is braking which is something I have always thought would be very useful.
I would like to say a special thank you to my professors Craig Sampson and Nick Marchuk.
